The Hammer of Citrus

The Hammer of Citrus. Wielded by the CitruSmyth!

Overview

The Hammer of Citrus is the legendary forging instrument wielded by the CitruSmyth during her work beneath the Underforge. Unlike traditional war hammers carried for destruction, the Hammer of Citrus was designed for refinement — used to shape enchanted metals, stabilize citrus essences, and temper volatile aromatic compounds into balanced forms.

Within the Order, the hammer represents precision through force: the belief that brightness, acidity, and intensity must be carefully controlled rather than simply amplified.

Its head is engraved with radiant citrus sigils and geometric forging marks unique to the CitruSmyth’s discipline. Many of the Order’s ceremonial artifacts, including early amulets worn by the Inner Circle, are believed to have been shaped beneath its strikes.

Origin

The Hammer of Citrus was forged beneath the Wizard’s Tower during the CitruSmyth’s earliest years within the Order. Dissatisfied with existing forging tools, she designed the hammer specifically for her work studying citrus-bearing ingredients and aromatic balance.

The head was cast from heat-resistant alloy sourced from the Eastern Mountains, while its internal channels were etched to conduct and stabilize radiant energy generated during forge rituals. The handle was wrapped using treated grove-leather capable of resisting both heat and citrus oils during extended use.

According to archived records, the hammer was never intended as a weapon, though its strikes were said to fracture unstable metals and burst volatile ingredients instantly into aromatic vapor.

Over time, the sound of the hammer striking the Underforge anvil became closely associated with the CitruSmyth’s work itself — a rhythmic signal that new experiments, artifacts, and refinements were underway beneath Brewfall.
